No matter what part of the world you’re from, chances are you’ve had your fair share of scratches, bruises, and other small injuries. That’s why it’s always helpful to have a first-aid kit handy. Creating the perfect first-aid kit can be overwhelming. You want to be sure you have everything you need, but you only have a limited amount of space. You can always purchase pre-made first aid kits, or you can create your own.
If you choose to create your own, be sure to include:
- 2 Absorbent Compress Dressings – At least 5 x 9 Inches
- Band-Aid Adhesive Bandages – Preferably an assortment of sizes. If not, there should be a minimum of 25 bandages available.
- Adhesive Cloth Tape – At least 10 yards x 1 inch
- 5 Antibiotic Ointment Packets – Approximately 1 gram each
- 5 Antiseptic Wipe Packets
- 2 Packets of Aspirin – 81 mg each
- 1 Blanket – Preferably space blanket
- 1 Breathing Barrier – With one-way valve
- 1 Instant Cold Compress
- 2 Pair of non-latex gloves – Size large
- 2 Hydrocortisone ointment packets – Approximately 1 gram each
- 1 Roller Bandage – 3 inches wide
- 1 Roller Bandage – 4 inches wide
- 5 Sterile Gauze Pads – 3 x 3 Inches
- 5 Sterile Gauze Pads – 4 x 4 Inches
- Oral Thermometer – Non-mercury / non-glass
- 2 Triangular Bandages
- Tweezers
- First Aid Instruction Booklet
