Shake container of human milk to be fortified. Pour desired amount of human milk into sterile container according to the following schedule: Additional 2 Calories/fl oz: human milk 50 mL, ENFAMIL Human Milk Fortifier 1 packet. Additional 4 Calories/fl oz: human milk 25 mL, ENFAMIL Human Milk Fortifier 1 packet. Add the powder to the measured human milk, cap container, SHAKE WELL and feed.

Regarding use in extremely low-birth-weight infants (ELBW--1 kg or less): Hypercalcemia has been reported in some of these infants on full enteral feeds of mother's milk supplemented with Enfamil Human Milk Fortifier. Although no adverse reactions have been reported, hypercalcemia could lead to complications including cardiac arrhythmia if hypercalcemia is severe. Monitor blood nutrient levels of ELBW infants receiving product. Do not administer other supplements unless indicated by appropriate testing.
