Cold therapy can be used to help relieve pain and reduce swelling caused by: sprains, strains, insect bites, bumps and bruises, minor burns, simple headaches, muscle aches. Heat therapy is ideal in helping relieve pain associated with: muscle aches, stiffness, arthritis, cramps. The soft outer pouch helps deliver hot or cold therapy and eliminates the need for a towel or cover. Reusable. Provides compression. 1 wrap, 1 hot and cold compress; 4 inches x 10 inches.

Hot Use: Heat therapy should not be used until 48 hours after an injury. Heat only when compress is at room temperature. 1. Lay compress flat in a microwave oven on a paper towel or paper plate. Heat at full power for 20 seconds. If compress expands like a balloon, stop heating. Compress is too hot. Let compress cool. Check for leaks. 2. Remove compress carefully from microwave oven and knead to distribute heat evenly. Check for desired temperature (see Applying Hot Compress to Skin). 3. To reheat, place hot compress back in microwave for 15 second intervals until desired temperature is reached. Knead compress again to distribute heat. Applying Hot Compress to Skin: 1. Insert compress in sleeve or wrap in cloth. 2. Check for desired temperature by carefully placing covered compress against forearm. If too hot, let cool. When comfortable, apply compress to desired area. Remove compress if it becomes uncomfortable. Cold Use: Cold therapy is recommended for the first 48 hours following the injury. Store cold compress in freezer for at least two hours before use. 1. Insert cold compress in sleeve or wrap in cloth. 2. Apply cold compress to desired area. Remove compress if it becomes uncomfortable. Do not apply for longer than 20 minutes at a time.

FOR HOT OR COLD USE: Check for leaks before use. Throw away if leaking. Individuals with problems in sensing heat or cold should use extreme caution with this product. For external use only. Adult supervision is recommended when using on children. Use with sleeve or wrap in cloth for insulation. Talk to your doctor if you have questions about the injury or if swelling or pain persists. Do not lie on top of compress, as it could cause compress to break. TO AVOID BURNS: Do not overheat compress. Check temperature before use.
